From 2012 to 2020, local archeologists have excavated the construction base of No. 1, No. 2 and 3 in the northwest of the ancient city of Jinyang. Among them, the base address of the No. 2 building is closer to the base address of the No. 3 building, and the times are the same. In March 2021, archeologists conducted archeological excavations on the area between the two buildings above the two buildings and found a porcelain kiln site. After a quarter of archeological work, archeologists discovered a total of 3 porcelain kiln sites, 9 gray pits and a large number of kiln furniture and porcelain pieces.

According to Han Binghua, the leader of the archeological project of the ancient city of Jinyang, before, some kiln furniture and porcelain slices were also unearthed in the ancient city of Jinyang, but the porcelain kiln site was never found. The porcelain kiln site discovered this time is located in the south of the Northern Dynasty to the Gongcheng District of the Tang Dynasty. Unlike many porcelain kiln sites, it is more unique.
Han Binghua said that from the analysis of the remaining relics of the porcelain kiln, the three porcelain kiln are horseshoe -shaped steamed bun kiln, consisting of fire bores, kiln rooms and flue. A large amount of charcoal ash was found in the fire, proved that the fuel used for burning kiln was charcoal. Judging from the relics and unearthed relics, the use of porcelain kiln is very short, and there are not many types of burned products. According to comprehensive analysis, the era of the porcelain kiln site was roughly in the early Sui to Tang Dynasty. The use time is not long, the types of furniture are small, but the technical level is high. The site of the porcelain kiln is the earliest discovery in Shanxi. It has filled the relevant research gaps and is of great significance in the study of ancient Chinese ceramics. (Finish)
