In 1992, Sun Ping and Ye Kinson went to Hungary to carry out cultural exchanges and stayed for 3 months. At the Pengdori Theater, Sun Ping and Ye Kinson became a box office guarantee. Some audiences specially bought the theater annual ticket in order to watch Sun Ping's play. Sun Ping and Ye Kinson became popular Chinese artists. The two went to the free market to buy vegetables. The merchants recognized them and insisted not to collect money. Since 1999, Sun Ping has been invited to the United States for cultural exchanges many times. In Europe, she successfully integrated Chinese opera into Western drama; in the United States, she was more interested in the combination of Peking Opera and Symphony. She collaborated with the Washington National Symphony Orchestra to sing the Peking Opera name with Western Music Instruments; she cooperated with the University of Pennsylvania Pennsylvania and Symphony Orchestra to accompany the symphony accompaniment to sing the Beijing opera "Red Lantern" and "Rhododendron Mountain". She also gave a speech and held a lecture on different occasions, showing people from all walks of life in the United States. In 2016, Sun Ping won the honorary doctorate degree in Chapman University in the United States, and became the third Peking Opera performing artist who won the honorary doctorate of the United States after Mei Lanfang and Zhang Junqiu.

In China, Sun Ping's art pace has not stopped. Her director's dance drama "He Lan on the Moon" has been widely praised and won multiple awards. As a member of the CPPCC National Committee, she has repeatedly submitted a proposal for "Peking Opera Education to enter primary and secondary schools", and eventually "landed". Later, she entered the work of the National Drama Research Center of Renmin University of China, and later served as the Dean of the Art Research Institute of Beijing Foreign Studies University, and is now a honorary dean.

In order to promote the spread of Peking opera overseas, Sun Ping's artists, experts, and scholars in the opera industry and the translation industry launched the "Chinese Peking Opera Hundred Classic English Translation Series" series in 2011. Regarding the evaluation of leaders, this series, as the innovation and beneficial attempts of Chinese and foreign cultural exchanges, is another important achievement of Chinese culture to the world. At present, the series has been collected by four U.S. Presidential Library.

In 2015, Sun Ping launched the Peking Opera Competition of the National College Students National University, which has been held several times. "Foreign students are the international audience closest to traditional Chinese culture. Holding foreign students' Peking Opera Competition will promote foreign students to actively explore and learn Chinese Peking Opera art and understand Chinese culture in deeply."
