Wenrun Canal ｜ Dongguang: The people's wisdom is lasting

The total length is 36.98 kilometers. Among the many cultural heritage in Dongguang County, the most eye -catching purpose is Xiejiaba, the Cultural Heritage Point of the Grand Canal. The multi -curve of the Hebei section of the South canal, Lianzhen Xiejiaba is one of the danger sections, and floods have made many decisions here. At the end of the Qing Dynasty, Lianzhen Township Simmer's Xie family organized manpower and creatively mixed glutinous rice soup with standard mortar into "glutinous rice mortar" and built Xiejiaba. The gray -brown dam rammed by glutinous rice and gray soil is lying on the east bank of the canal. Although it is only 218 meters in length, it has sincerely admired the wisdom of the sages after hundreds of years. On June 22, 2014, the Chinese Grand Canal was officially included in the World Cultural Heritage List. Lianzhen Xiejiaba is one of the heritage points of the Grand Canal, and one of the two world cultural heritage points in the canal section of the Hebei Province.
