China Ceramics Tour: Da Wu Cun Sculpture

Da Wu clay sculpture is a traditional handicraft in Chaozhou, Guangdong. It originated in the Southern Song Dynasty. It was flourished in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China. It was produced using techniques such as carving, plastic, pinching, stickers, engraving, printing, and color.

Da Wu clay sculpture products are the most dramatic characters. There are several characters in the drama, and one or two protagonists in the play. The entire drama is called "big ax batch", and the one or two characters are divided into "tattoos" and "martial arts", that is, the old and middle -aged men and women in the literati or generals, including Shengdan Jingfu ugly. First, these products are for the furnishings of the halls or idols, which are called "Wengzai screen"; the other is the use of the Lantern Festival for the Society, which is called "lantern". Their height is generally between 7 and 12 inch, and "lantern" is much taller than this.

The prosperity of the clay sculpture industry has made Da Wu Village clay sculpture workshop standing, and a number of well -known "font", such as Lihe, Caihe, Fuhe, Xianghe, Caiji, Ji Ji, Rong Ji, Golden Ji, Shengjian, Shengjian, Shengshu, Shengshu, Victory There are more than 40 such as Ji, Xiuji. The Gitti Museum of Art is still collecting more than 300 clay sculpture masterpieces of these names.
