It is reported that Fujian Ningde Pingnan Wan'an Bridge has a history of more than 900 years. On May 25, 2006, it was listed as one of the sixth batch of national key cultural relics protection units.

In 1932, the bridge was rebuilt again, and the bridge extended to the right bank of the 38 -opening 156 pillars. There was a heavy eaves bridge pavilion in the northwest of the bridge. In 1952, the northwestern end of the bridge was destroyed by the large water and rebuilt in 1954.
