The Qixi Festival is regarded as the "Valentine's Day" in the people. On this day, in the stone pond in Wenling, Zhejiang, the traditional custom of "Little Man's Day" was inherited. Local fishermen will wear traditional costumes to show the fishermen's style, while the children are carefully dressed and accepted the blessings of everyone, attracting many tourists and photography enthusiasts.
As an ancient fisherman's town along the coast of eastern Zhejiang, his fishermen moved in from Fujian more than 300 years ago. It also brought the customs of the Qixi worship dolls that were prevalent in southern Fujian at that time, which was loved and inherited by local people. According to reports, the folks in the southern Fujian region call the weaver girl, and the protector of the child is the child. Tanabata is the birthday of Qi Niang's mother, and every family needs to worship her. On the day of Qixi Festival, fishermen will take out color pavilions and cars made of bamboo strips, colored paper, mud and other raw materials, put on wine, fruits, food and other sacrifices, and pray for children to grow up safely and healthy.
It is reported that the custom of Shitang Qixi is known as the "living fossil" of Chinese folk begging culture. It can be traced back to the Northern Song Dynasty and was included in the third batch of national intangible cultural heritage lists in 2011.
