Yang Biao: Putting the arts at the grassroots level to let art enter the countryside

The 78 -year -old Yang Biao loved art from an early age. In 1961, he was admitted to the Fine Arts Department of Nanjing Normal University with excellent results. After graduating from college, Yang Biao responded to the call of the motherland and came to the then Jiangpu County Cultural Museum to engage in grass -roots art publicity and education. For decades, he has trained a number of outstanding art workers.

After retiring, Yang Biao devoted himself to the creation of oil paintings. He used a brush to depict the "new scrolls" of beautiful rural villages, and exhibited these works in the countryside of Pukou.
