Researchers at Florida Atlantic University published a new study in "Frontiers in Psychology" discussed this phenomenon. The participants of the study include 235 students (129 boys and 106 girls) in a public primary school in South Florida. They told the study at two time points (13-14 weeks apart). The results showed that seat distribution affected children's friendship. Students sitting nearby are more likely to become friends than students sitting in other parts of the classroom.
