A few days ago, the major projects in the automotive industry in Jilin Province, the Audi FAW New Energy Vehicle Project, ushered in new progress. The project -related planning approval has been completed and will be held on June 28. It is planned to be completed by the end of 2024.
Audi FAW New Energy Automobile Project will build a new electric vehicle factory in Changchun, and it will be located in the Changchun Automobile Economic and Technological Development Zone. The total area of the project covers an area of 2.46 million square meters and an annual production capacity of 150,000 units. It is the first pure electric model in China to produce pure electric models in China Production base.
The new factory will have a high level of intelligent manufacturing, and all production processes will be incorporated into a new information technology architecture. In addition to stamping, welding, painting, coating, and general installation workshop, the factory will also be equipped with a battery assembly workshop. The factory is built in accordance with the green standards to help the Changchun region achieve carbon neutrality and promote sustainable production.

It is reported that the new factory of Audi FAW New Energy Project mainly produces high -end pure electric models based on the PPE platform. The platform is jointly built by Audi and Porsche. After the factory is completed, three models will be put into production, including a pure electric SUV and a pure electric car.
On October 13, 2020, Audi and FAW Group signed the "Memorandum of understanding of Audi FAW High -end New Energy Vehicle Cooperation Project". On January 19, 2021, the Board of Directors of China FAW, Audi Management Board, and Volkswagen Group Supervisory Board officially signed a contract to announce that the project settled in Changchun. On March 25, 2021, Audi FAW New Energy Vehicle Co., Ltd. was established and became Audi's third joint venture in China. Audi CEO Du Siman said: "The project plays a core role in Audi in the China Electrification strategy."
