Why does the city need pickup card

Gu Dasong, Executive Director of the Research Center of Southeast University's Traffic and Development Research Center, told China News Weekly that for many small producers in many urban or suburbs, the use of light trucks such as pickups is actually just needed.

The report shows that the customer base of my country's pickups in 2020 is mainly concentrated in engineering construction, wholesale retail, agricultural and sideline aquatic products, manufacturing, decoration, vehicle maintenance, transportation, mining, forest farm agriculture and accommodation and catering.
The largest customer group of pickups comes from the engineering and construction industry. The purchase of users in this industry accounts for 42%of the total annual sales; the second largest customer group comes from the wholesale and retail industry, accounting for 18%; the third largest customer group is agricultural agriculture. The operators of the aquatic products account for 14%. Such users are mainly small merchants and hawkers. The use scenarios mainly occur in the farmer's market in urban areas and suburbs.
There is no doubt that from the customer base, many of the use scenarios of pickup cards are mainly concentrated in the main urban area. In the past, how can the relevant needs meet in a city without letting go?

Cheng Shidong believes that after the lifting of pickups, it will solve the problem of loading the passenger van illegal cargo to a certain extent.
Entering the city is just the first step
In the eyes of many industry insiders, allowing pickups to enter the city is only the first step. In the future, the right of trucks should have deeper considerations and changes.
According to Wang Yan's analysis, the loosening of pickups in major cities will promote the transformation of pickups from small models to popular models. It is expected to promote pickups to become one of the main models of urban logistics distribution.
In fact, due to concerns about traffic congestion, emission pollution, and unloading congestion, major cities have strict restrictions on trucks entering the city.
However, from Cheng Shidong's view, all truck restrictions may not be able to improve traffic congestion.
"Due to the traffic control of trucks, there are fewer traffic time for trucks during the day, but in fact many goods have strict requirements on time. The amount of goods that can be pulled by a small truck may require a few van to transport, so that the road occupies more, and it is not safe. "Cheng Shidong said.
"Restricting trucks have always been the mainstream of road rights policies. But in recent years, we have gradually realized that cities must not only serve the lives of the people, but also take into account production. In fact, there are many demand for logistics and distribution in the city, such as catering, wholesale and retail. In addition to the "loosening" of pickups into the city, the parking problem of pickups and other light trucks has also become the focus of attention in the industry.
In Cheng Shidong's view, in terms of public parking spaces, light trucks should be given more space tilt and planned some public parking spaces for them.
