On September 6, 1970, the Ontario Racing in California held the first event, California 500 miles. The Indian event was won by Jimmy McLreath, which was driving a Coyote-Ford car.It is the first and only car competition field to host four major competitions (Indian racing, Naska Racing, straight -line accelerated racing, and first -class formula).The track was completed in less than two years and opened in August 1970. It was considered the most advanced track at the time.
