Wuhan's high -performance computing industry chain also adds a national "little giant"

Wuhan Evening News, September 25 (Reporter Li Jia Correspondent Luo Mei) Recently, the second headquarters in Wuhan's China Science and Technology was selected as the list of the fourth batch of new "Little Giants" enterprise in the country.

DPU is a Data Processing Unit, and it is the third important computing chip after the data center after CPU and GPU. The current computing architecture of the data center is difficult to meet the needs of network transmission and data processing under high bandwidth. DPUs can be widely used in the computing scenarios of high bandwidth, low latency, and data dense in the future. The founding team comes from the China Science and Technology Laboratory of the National Key Laboratory of the Computing Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. It focuses on the research and development and design of the DPU chip of the special processor. It has just received hundreds of millions of yuan in Series B.

Lu Wenyan, the co -founder and CTO of Zhongke Yuxing, said that the settlement of the Optics Valley will establish the DPU chip research and development center and use it as the base to contribute to Wuhan's strong chain on the related industrial chain.

Wuhan's recently released "Implementation Plan for the Innovation and Development of the Industrial Innovation of the Yuan Cosmic Industry (2022-2024) (Draft for Solicitation)" has attracted much attention. Processors (GPUs), data processors (DPUs), dedicated integrated circuits (ASIC), programmable logic array (FPGA) and other computing chips and RISC-V instruction set chips.

It is understood that in the field of high -performance computing, Wuhan already has the infrastructure of Wuhan Artificial Intelligence Computing Center, and Wuhan Supercomputing Center will also be put into use within the year, and is building upstream and downstream ecosystems such as Kunpeng, Tongxin, and Dream Database. Among them, of which , Dammeng database and other companies cultivated in the country are listed in national specialized new giant companies.
