Consolid the network foundation CERNET three new 100G domestic interconnection bandwidth

On June 21, CERNET and China Telecom achieved a new interconnection bandwidth of 100G in Wuhan. At this point, since this year's epidemic counterattack, CERNET has added a hundred G G interconnection bandwidth with the three major operators to further improve the quality of online access and user experience to ensure the prevention and control requirements of colleges and universities.

Earlier this year, due to the counterattack of the epidemic, universities in many places entered closed management, and they were transferred from life to learning to online. This puts forward a huge demand for the export bandwidth of the campus network, and CERNET's domestic interconnection flow has increased significantly.

In order to cope with the surge in the bandwidth under the epidemic and ensure the needs of teachers and students online teaching needs, CERNET and operating units are actively operating to ensure the stable and safe operation of the network, while actively negotiating with the three major domestic operators, and significantly enhanced domestic interconnection bandwidth.

In April, 100G of the new interconnection bandwidth with China Mobile in Guangzhou. In May, 100g of connecting bandwidth with China Unicom in Shanghai. In June, 100g of connecting bandwidth with China Telecom in Wuhan.

According to national policies, the principle of "peer interconnection and not settlement" is adopted between Internet backbone networks. This expansion uses the backbone direct connection method to achieve between the backbone routers of both sides. In this way, the network resources are directly accessible through the backbone network of both parties, reducing the length of access path, and more effectively improving access efficiency.

Academician Wu Jianping, director of the CERNET Expert Committee, pointed out that the promotion of the epidemic is just an opportunity. Interconnection has a greater impact on network services. The interconnection with various operators has been the conventional work that CERNET has continued to promote for many years. "This work is of more important significance under the epidemic, and it is also directly related to the stability of the campus teaching and research order and the success of universities. We also need to thank other operators for their support for the informatization and resistance of universities."

Guangzhou, Shanghai, and Wuhan are three huge traffic nodes of CERNET. The expansion of the interconnection bandwidth has greatly increased CERNET interconnection bandwidth, and CERNET interconnection guarantee services have been further strengthened. As of now, CERNET's domestic IPV4 interconnection has a total bandwidth of 933.5G, and the domestic IPv6 interconnection bandwidth is 840G, which further improves the speed of access and ensures high -quality Internet access for users.
