The 110 -meter -caliber telescope in Xinjiang Qitai Return to start construction

On September 23, 2022, the 110 -meter -caliber of the Xinjiang Observatory was launched in Qitai County, Changji Hui Autonomous Prefecture. Since this radio telescope is built in Qitai, it is called Qitai radio telescope according to the convention, abbreviated as QTT (Qitai Radio Telescope).

After the completion of the Qitai telescope, it may become the world's largest and most accurate 100 -meter -level omnidirectional radio electric telescope. The 100 -meter caliber will make it weigh more than 6,000 tons, which is 2.2 times that of Shanghai Tianshima Radiory Telescope. With such a huge telescope, its facial shape accuracy will reach 0.3 mm, the pointing accuracy is 2.5 cents, and even 0.5 cents higher than "Tianma".

The advantages of omnidirectional and moving allow the Qitai telescope to observe three -quarters of the day with extremely high sensitivity, covering the center of the Galaxy and its 12 ° range. After the completion, the Qitai telescope will provide an excellent high -sensitivity observation platform for many important astronomical research directions within the frequency range of 150MHz ~ 115GHz, including black holes, stars, fast radio storms, dark matter, NHZ (NHZ) gravitational waves, and Origin of life. Its unique geographical location and excellent sensitivity will also strengthen and improve my country's deep space detection network.
