According to the British "New Scientist" magazine website reported on September 19, the James Wabo Space Telescope recently released its first Mars infrared image, capturing the atmospheric data of the entire planet, which will help astronomers to identify that the previous instruments cannot be unable to fail The phenomenon and gas of identification can better understand the atmosphere of Mars.

The images released by Webb used two different infrared wavelengths to display the image of Mars East Hemisphere. The short wavelength part is the result of Mars reflected sunlight, showing the surface characteristics of the common planets in visible light images; the long wavelength part shows the calories of Mars surface and atmosphere, and the information of carbon dioxide concentration in the atmosphere.

Jeranimo Verannaevol, the National Aerospace Administration of the National Aeronautics and Space Agency, pointed out that it is difficult for the Wabo Space Telescope to imagine it on a close -range planet like Mars because it is designed to detect it very far away. , Forty celestial bodies. The sunlight reflected in Mars makes the detector of the Wabo Space Telescope overload, so they have to take a short time exposure and collect some light from the detector to sample.

Although the first Mars image and spectrum released by the Webu Telescope did not reveal new information about Mars, and did not identify dust, surface rocks and atmospheric characteristics (such as water and carbon dioxide) The data that cannot be collected.

Researchers said that one of the advantages of using the Weibu telescope is that it can be used to the surface of the entire planet at a high resolution at the same time in the short exposure time, so as to study events that occur in a short time, such as sandstorms, weather mode and seasonal changes.

In addition, this complete image will also make it easier for scientists to track any sources of trace gas found. These trace gases (such as methane or hydrogen chloride) have little content in Mars at the atmosphere, but they are very important for determining possible biological or geological processes. In the past, the tasks of trace gas surrounding Mars were used to use rail aircraft, and only snapshots in the Mars community could be taken.
