The official website of Huazhong University of Science and Technology shows that in 1977, Tao Bosheng is now a professor and doctoral supervisor of the School of Mechanical Sciences and Engineering of Huazhong University of Science and Technology.

He has been engaged in the research of intelligent manufacturing and robotics for a long time. He publishes more than 80 papers in academic journals at home and abroad and has written a monograph. He is currently hosting national scientific research projects such as the National Natural Science Foundation of China to integrate major research plans to integrate innovation projects, key funds, and national "intelligent robots" key research and development plans. The research results won the Second Prize of National Science and Technology Progress (ranking 2), the second prize of the national technology invention (ranking 4), and one of the first prize of the national teaching achievement (ranking 6), and won more than 30 national invention patents.

The "Scientific Exploration Award" was established in 2018 and was initiated by 14 well -known scientists such as Yang Zhenning, Rao Yi, Shi Yigong, Pan Jianwei, Xie Xiaoliang, and Ma Huateng, the initiator of the Tencent Foundation. The award covers ten areas of basic science and cutting -edge technologies. In the past four years, a total of 200 winners have been selected.
