The failure of Google's "Android Monopoly Case" still faces more than 4 billion euros fines

The EU Permanent Court maintained the original judgment on the 14th. It is determined that the US Google Company rely on its Android mobile phone operating system (hereinafter referred to as the Android system) in the mobile phone market to crowd out competitors and reduce consumers' options. The fines from the previous 4.34 billion euros (about 3.014 billion yuan) to 4.125 billion euros (about 28.527 billion yuan).

After three years of investigation, EU antitrust agencies determined that Google rely on the Android system to monopolize markets in July 2018, and fined Google 4.34 billion euros. Google appealed in the EU permanent court in September 2021.

After the European Union Court made a judgment on the 14th, Google expressed disappointment with the verdict. Google can continue to appeal to the higher -level European courts.

The EU has a monopoly investigation for Google's search engines, Android systems, and Internet advertising business for many years. At present, this company has a fine of more than 8 billion euros. The fine of more than 4 billion euros involving the Android system is the highest amount of fines issued by the EU for monopoly.

Google was also punished in South Korea on the 14th. The South Korean Personal Information Protection Commission said on the 14th that Google and Facebook's parent company "Yuan" Company did not collect personal information with the consent of the user to invest in personalized advertisements. The company fined 69.2 billion won (about 346 million yuan) and 30.8 billion won (about 154 million yuan).
