The new discovery of "Super Earth" may support the existence of life, only one hundred light years away from the earth

A international scientific research team discovered two new planets that were only 100 light years from Earth, one of which could be suitable for life.

According to the United States Colombia Broadcasting Corporation, both planets are called "Super Earth", namely LP 890-9B and LP 890-9C. LP 890-9B is about 30%than the earth, with a radius of more than 5200 miles (about 8369 kilometers), and it can be around its star for only 2.7 days; LP 890-9C (later renamed Speculoos-2C by researchers) about the earth than the earth 40%, radius of more than 5400 miles (about 8690 kilometers), and the track cycle takes about 8.5 days.

According to the National Aeronautics and Space Agency (NASA), "Super Earth" is a unique type of exogenous planet in the solar system, which is greater than our planet, but lighter than ice superstar. They are composed of gases and rocks, and the quality can reach 10 times the earth.

This discovery was made by the University of Belgium using NASA's TESS task satellite and the university's own telescope Speculoos (livable planet looking for super -cold stars). Related papers will be published in the recent "Astronomy and Astronomy" magazine.

The second planet LP 890-9C aroused the interest of scientists. The thesis co -author, Anda Lucia Institute of Astronomical Physics, Francisco Populos, explained that although the orbit of the planet is very close to its stars, there is only about 1/10 of the distance between Mercury and the sun, but it receives it. The volume of star radiation is still very low. If it has enough atmosphere, liquid water may appear on the surface. This is because its star LP 890-9 is about 6.5 times smaller than our sun, and the temperature is about half of the sun.

"This explains why LP 890-9C is closer to its star, but it may still have conditions for life."

Researchers plan to further study the livability of LP 890-9C, which may become the second planet that is most conducive to maintaining life.
