No matter which manufacturer is, it must be equipped with a USB Type-C charging interface.

The bulletin said that the charging speed that supports fast charging equipment must also be unified, so that users can use any compatible charger at the same speed as the equipment charging.

The bulletin said that the protocol can make more chargers reused and help consumers reduce the unnecessary charger for buying, thereby saving up to 250 million euros each year (about about $ 270 million). According to EU Commission estimates, abandoned and unused chargers generate about 11,000 tons of electronic waste each year.

For many years, the European Union has been promoting the charging interface of unified mobile phones and other electronic devices, but some mobile phone manufacturers have also objected to this.

The bulletin said that after the summer break, the European Parliament and the European Union Council will formally approve the agreement and announce it at the EU official communiqué. After the agreement takes effect, the new rules will be implemented in 24 months.
