The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology organized the Sichuan Provincial Communications Industry to carry out the work of emergency communication in the Luding earthquake

At 12:00 on September 5, 2022, a magnitude 6.8 earthquake occurred in Luding County, Ganzi Prefecture, Sichuan Province. The earthquake caused some communication facilities in Luding County and Ashaima Prefecture.

After the earthquake, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology attached great importance to it. The video dispatch meeting was held as soon as possible to deploy the emergency communication protection work of earthquake relief. The Sichuan Provincial Communications Administration immediately launched a level II emergency response. Relevant responsible comrades led the team to the disaster area to organize the repair of damaged communication facilities and emergency communication guarantee.

As of 17:00 on September 5th, some base stations such as power failure in Luding County and other affected areas have been retired due to power failure, and there is no full resistance of township -level communications. At present, the Sichuan Provincial Communications Industry is fully repairing damaged communication facilities, with a total of 360 guarantee personnel, 120 emergency communication guarantee vehicles, 219 power generation oil engines, and 29 satellite telephones. At the same time, in order to meet the needs of mass communication in the disaster area, the Sichuan Provincial Communications Administration has dispatched large -scale high -altitude full -network emergency communication drones to support China Telecom, China Mobile, and China Unicom mobile users to rush to the earthquake area to carry out public communication coverage.

The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will further increase guidance and coordination, and organize the Sichuan communications industry to realize the recovery of communication services in the affected area as soon as possible to normal level.
