Xie Cun, director of the Information and Communication Development Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, introduced that as of the end of July this year, there were 1.968 million 5G base stations in the country, and all prefecture -level urban areas, county towns, and 96%of towns and towns have achieved 5G network coverage.

Xie Cun said that at present, 5G mobile phone users have reached 475 million households, an increase of 120 million households from the end of 2021; Gigabit Optical Network has the ability to cover more than 400 million households, which has reached all cities and regions across the country. The user size exceeded 65.7 million households, an increase of more than 31 million households from the end of 2021. At present, the country has achieved "village village broadband", "county -county -oriented 5G" and "municipal Gigabit Gigabit".

The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology implemented the 5G application "sailing" action plan, and jointly launched a pilot demonstration such as 5G+medical and health, 5G+smart education, and other pilot demonstrations. The collection competition and the "Guanghua Cup" Gigabit Light Network Application Innovation Competition, with a total of over 50,000 cases of 5G application cases.

The United Nations Assets Commission issued the "Implementation Opinions on Promoting the Construction of Telecom Infrastructure Construction and Sharing 5G Networks to Accelerate Construction and Development" to promote the establishment of 5G networks and sharing. Promoting the introduction of optical fiber -to -house national standards, new buildings have basically achieved simultaneously supporting the construction of optical fiber broadband facilities.
