In the first 5 months, the total service import and export of my country increased by 22% year -on -year

In May, my country's total service import and export volume was 456.28 billion yuan, a year -on -year increase of 22.2%.

This was learned by the reporter from the online routine press conference held by the Ministry of Commerce on the 7th. A spokesman for the Ministry of Commerce, Shu Jingsing, said that from January to May this year, my country ’s service exports were 1151.79 billion yuan, an increase of 26.3%; imports were 1213.57 billion yuan, an increase of 18.2%. The increase in service exports was greater than the import of 8.1 percentage points, driving the service trade deficit 46%to 61.78 billion yuan.

Shu Jingsing said that the first five months of my country's service trade mainly showed the characteristics of steady growth of knowledge -intensive service trade, and the restoration of the import and export of travel services.

Data show that from January to May, the import and export of knowledge -intensive services was 988.67 billion yuan, an increase of 10%. Among them, the export of knowledge -intensive services was 560.24 billion yuan, an increase of 13.6%; the areas where exports grew rapidly were telecommunications computers and information services, and other commercial services, with an increase of 18.5%and 13.2%, respectively. Knowledge -intensive service imports were 428.43 billion yuan, an increase of 5.6%; the fields with rapid growth are insurance services, with a growth rate of 74.2%.

In terms of travel services, from January to May, the import and export of travel services in my country was 330.84 billion yuan, an increase of 7.7%. Excluding travel services, from January to May, the import and export of services in my country increased by 24.7%, of which exports increased by 28.1%and imports increased by 20.8%. Compared with the same period in 2019, the service import and export increased by 49%, of which exports increased by 65.2%, imports increased by 32.8 32.8 %.
