At present, the mainstream advanced direction of the LNG industry is a thin-film MARK-Ⅲ transport ship and a supporting thin-film land storage tank, which has the characteristics of high safety factor and large storage volume. It uses a special Austenite stainless steel cold -rolled plate, which requires harsh requirements for the tissue stability, low temperature force performance, size accuracy, plate type and surface "zero defects". Production qualifications are mastered by foreign companies.

In the face of major national needs, as companies that have been involved in the LNG industry earlier in China, Tai Steel established a technical research team in time.
